On February 1, 2007, I posted the picture, above, on this blog.

This morning, I noticed the following comment on my site:

“How dare you as a photograph to stole others people picture???”

I clicked on the link left by the author of the comment:  http://pticica.com/slika.aspx?korisnikid=2891&slikaid=165970

I’m perplexed by a few small matters.  First, I am not a photograph, or at least the last time I looked down my physical form appeared to comprise three dimensions, not two.

Second, the link above is a blog of some description.  It appears to be in an Eastern European language, but I’m not exactly sure which one.  Is the blog’s author suggesting that the photo of the hairy man belongs to him or her?  If so, does he or she know the hairy man?  Does the hairy man know his naked hirsute body is plastered all over the internets?  If it isn’t a photo trademarked or copyrighted to the blogger, then isn’t the accusation that I “stole” the photo a little bit of the pot calling the kettle black?

Further, photographs on the internet aren’t proprietary unless the material is embedded in such a manner.  Accordingly, if hairy man wasn’t meant to travel from blog to blog, then right-click protect the hairy man, I say!

Finally, how did the accuser find his/her hairy man on my site?  Did he or she google “hairy man” to see where he wound up?

As you can see, I’m not budging on my position to put hairy man out there for you all to see.  In fact, here he is again:

I’m With The Band

Most of us who were born after the Kennedy administration can relate to certain songs that, when heard, bring back memories - good or bad - or simply speak to us in some way.  Over the years,  I’ve compiled a list in my head of songs of which I never tire.  I’ve heard some of them thousands of times and never grow weary of them.  Some songs I would rather listen to alone, some are better shared.  Here is my list, and please share with me yours, as Greta my Nano is getting tired of the same old same old:

  1.  Panama, Van Halen
  2. Never Been Any Reason, Head East
  3. Layla, Derek and the Dominos
  4. You’re All I’ve Got Tonight, The Cars
  5. Pretty Vegas, INXS
  6. Word Up, Korn
  7. Jump Around, House of Pain
  8. My Immortal, Evanescence
  9. Mr. Jones, Counting Crows
  10. Better Man, Pearl Jam
  11. Don’t Stop Believing, Journey
  12. Georgia On My Mind, Ray Charles
  13. Rapture, Blondie
  14. Into the Dark, Deathcab for Cutie
  15. One Headlight, The Wallflowers
  16. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Joan Baez
  17. Brian Wilson, Barenaked Ladies
